This X7.1 Capsule Espresso Maker was designed by Luca Trazzi for the Italian label Illy.Illy was established by Hungarian emigre Francesco Illy in Trieste in 1933. A family business, the firm started off operating a cafe, and moved into the production of coffee brewers in 1994. With the benefit of decades of experience and a passion for coffee, the result was a device that was durable, elegant and, most of all, able to effortlessly brew up a fine espresso. Other features include a milk frother to enable preparation of lattes and cappuccinos.Featuring a body fashioned from ABS and a boiler made of brass, the X7.1 Capsule Espresso Maker uses the firm's Metodo Iperespresso capsule system to brew up authentic ristrettos, espressos and lungos at the push of a button. The device features a removable water tank holding 1.2l for all-day use between refills. Measuring 28cm in width, 31cm in height, and 28cm in depth, the unit is compact enough to fit on most kitchen shelves and countertops. The X7.1 Capsule Espresso Maker is offered with a starter kit containing 18 espresso capsules.
